Parent Support

Whether you are newly home or your children now have children of their own, every new step in the adoption journey allows for opportunities to learn and grow as a family. The journey of parenthood is a road of hills and valleys and one on which we hope to travel alongside you. Parenting Toolkits

In collaboration with our CCAI adoption teammates, we are proud to provide ongoing support toolkits for parents in the process of adoption as well as post adoption.

Toolkit for Adoption an Older Child I

Toolkit for Adopting an Older Child I is written to provide prospective adoptive parents with information to allow for realistic, flexible, and fluid expectations when adopting and parenting an older child. It is important to approach older child adoptions with adequate preparation.

Toolkit for Adoption an Older Child II

Toolkit for Adopting an Older Child II is written as a continuation of its predecessor, designed to provide a deeper look at adopted older children and their needs when entering a new family.

Ukraine Caregiver Toolkit

As the war in Ukraine has put adoption plans on pause for so many, the shift to crisis support may prove to be overwhelming and bring up difficult feelings. The Ukraine Caregiver Toolkit offers guidance on how to be the best support for both yourself, your family at home, and the children in Ukraine.

Approaching Your Child’s History: A Toolkit for Parents Adopting from China

Approaching Your Child’s History: A Toolkit for Parents Adopting from China hopes to help parents find confidence and affirmation when approaching hard conversations with and about their children and their unknown histories.
